An Outer Galactic Experience

Students from Rathbone House recently enjoyed a trip to Spaceport in Seacombe. They enthralled to listen to the guide talk about finding life on other planets.  Following this, students were taken to Spaceport’s high tech planetarium and shown a video of the training that astronauts undertake and what the conditions and views of earth are like from space.  They were encouraged to ask questions and gain a deeper understanding of why scientists and researchers from across the globe, are in a race to find traces of the existence of other life forms.

Spaceport offered many interactive activities which allowed our students to experience the life and the condition of an astronaut.  They even took part in a mock rocket launch – which did get a little bit competitive between the teachers and the students.
