“Cookery club” has been running every Wednesday from 3:20pm to 4:30pm since the beginning of December. The enrichment activity was developed to support our Duke of Edinburgh students in the completion of the skill element, but has proved extremely popular with students across the whole school community. The number of students participating has grown each week and there has been a real buzz about what will be on the menu next.
Over the past few weeks we have created culinary delights including Pizza Wheels, Peppermint Creams, Shortbread Biscuits, Yule Logs, and Turkey Burgers.
Our students are developing life skills, they working independently and following recipes, learning about food hygiene and food safety skills, experimenting with new / different ingredients and most importantly they are having fun at the end of the academic day.
