Careers Education, Information Advice & Guidance

At The Kingsway Academy we provide impartial CEIA to all students, particularly those reaching the end of key stages 3, 4 and 5 as they make the transition into the next stage of their education.

Our aim is to develop students into independent individuals who are able to make informed decisions regarding their future.

From year 7, students take part in various activities ranging from visits to Further Education and Higher Education establishments, to drop-down days which include sessions on innovation, finance, enterprise, recruitment and selection and careers fairs, as well as careers events tailored to specific curriculum areas.

All students, particularly those in year 8 and year 11, are encouraged to take advantage of the services of our fully qualified impartial Careers Advisors from Careers Connect service and our Professional Guidance Leader, Mr McCann, who offers drop-in sessions and one-to-one advice and guidance to students requiring support as they undertake important decisions about their future.

Our students progress into many different jobs and higher education courses. Recent destinations have included studying Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh, Marine Biology at Bangor University, and Accounting at Swansea University.

The Royal Navy, British Telecom, Everton FC, Essar Oil and Lees Solicitors are just a few organisations which have employed recent leavers on either apprenticeships or jobs.
